We’re the Hipwells!

My name is Leah, and my husband’s name is Chris. We are the faces behind Star Garnet Pups. Both my husband and I have been raised around animals in small Idaho towns. I grew up having dogs and horses, and my husband grew up having dogs, horses, chickens, pigs, cows and more! We both have a passion for making sure our animals are well taken care of, as well as understanding the responsibility that comes with breeding animals. We are trying to pass that info down to our kids as they help us raise our puppies. This teaches our kids great life skills, as well as teaches our puppies great life skills!

Our passion for dogs stems from our childhood, but now into adulthood we are really passionate about how important dogs are to a human’s life, and we want to be a part of that! We feel like dogs can heal a soul, as well as teach many things like patience, humility, and forgiveness. All qualities that can make you a better person. We want the dogs that we raise to be well-rounded. This means that they have been socialized to the best of our ability. They are healthy and free of preventable genetic diseases. They have great personality characteristics that allow them to be the best lifelong companion. We believe that everyone deserves to have a well-rounded dog that can be the best family companion for them!

We currently live in Emmett, Idaho, and that’s where our puppies are raised! Our doggies are a part of our family. The puppies are raised in our home and socialized with children most of the way. We also raise our puppies following the puppy culture curriculum. This curriculum helps raise them as healthy as can be, as well as socializes them the appropriate amount for the stage that they are at.
